Mr. Bill Piatt was inducted into the Rotary Club of SML at the club’s April 11, 2013, meeting.
Mr. Piatt has an extensive background in the field of Information Technology. He has held top-level management positions in several large consulting firms in the private sector such as Unisys Corporation and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He has also served in the federal sector with the General Services Administration as Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Piatt continues to provide leadership as the CEO for the annual Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour. During his tenure leading the Charity Home Tour the tour achieved a dramatic turn around in sponsorship, attendance and recognition. The home tour is one of the Smith Mountain Lake area’s signature events if not the signature event held each year. During the past two years the SML Charity Home Tour has provided approximately $250,000 to local charities.
