The Rotary Club of SML donated to the Franklin County chapter of the Challenger Little League at a recent club meeting. Ms.Catrina Medlin spoke to members about the benefits children with physical and mental challenges gain from participating in a team sport such as Little League baseball. The Challenger Division is a separate division of Little League allowing these children to enjoy the game of baseball along with millions of other children who participate worldwide. Challenger players wear the same uniforms, shoulder /patches and safety equipment as other Little League players.
The Club’s donation will help defray some of the costs for uniforms and other costs associated such as safety equipment and insurance requirements.
